Dr Len Smart

Len qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 1986. He has worked in general practice in Caerphilly and Bridgend. His special interests include cosmetic dentistry, implants and caring for patients with bite (occlusal) and jaw and headache problems.
Len’s free time is taken up with sailing, antiques, DIY and motorcycling.
Dr Sophie Clayton

Sophie qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 2015. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry especially smile makeovers.
Other than dentistry Sophie has a passion for hockey and represented her country (Wales) in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Tom qualified from the university of sheffield dental school in 2018. Tom also won the 2018 Future of Dentistry Award.

Dr Niz Mhani

Dr Nizar Mhani, known to everyone as Niz, is our resident Specialist Orthodontist. Niz is a Consultant in Hospital working in the Royal Gwent and Nevill Hall Hospitals where he treats complex and severe cases alongside other consultants from a variety of different specialities.
Niz first qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine with an honours degree in Dental Technology (BSC) in 2002, after which he undertook a research Masters Degree in Material Science (M.Phil). In 2003,
Niz went on to study for his Bachelors in Dental Surgery earning his second honours degree in 2008 (BDS). He then went on to complete a year in General Practice working in Rhwbina Dental Surgery before going on to complete a number of specialist junior rotations in Cardiff (University Hospital Wales), Merthyr Tydfil (Prince Charles Hospital) and the Community Dental Service in Cwm Taff. Here, Niz was able to develop his skills in Oral Surgery, Restorative Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry as well as studying in the evenings to complete his first qualification with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (RCS MFDS)
Niz then applied for Consultant training where he spent 2 years in Swansea (Morriston Hospital) training to be a leader in his speciality. He completed his third and final qualification with the Royal College of Surgeons – The Fellowship of Dental Surgery (FDS), in 2016 and was then appointed as Consultant by the Aneurin Bevan Health Board where he helps to run the specialist departments in 2 hospitals. Niz now uses his experience and qualifications to help other aspiring specialists achieve their goals. He mentors trainees, teaches postgraduates and examines at the University.

Paul provides Orthodontic Care at the practice. He qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 1983. Paul practices part time in Newport.
Dr Craig Mallorie

Oral Surgery, Dental Implants and Sedation
Craig is our multi-award winning dental surgeon who performs complex surgical extractions, dental implants and intravenous sedation treatments at Bridge Dental Care.
Over the years he has travelled the World to study and improve his skills in these areas across three continents. In California, USA, he completed a one-year Master Implant Clinician Program finishing the course as top student amongst the international intake of 150 dental surgeons. He also completed his Dental Implant Diploma with distinction in Sydney and has been placing dental implants for over 11 years with success rates in excess of 98-percent.
As well as working here at Bridge Dental Care he also works as a Specialty Dental Surgeon in Oral Surgery at the University Hospital of Wales where he performs complex oral surgery treatments as well as training of junior staff in the practice of oral surgery.
